History: Historicly Videodrome 2 was one of the last alternativ videoclub in Marseille. Four years ago, the team intended to develop a movie house with the videoclub linked to a screening room and a bar. The venue opened its doors almost three years ago. Videodrome 2 is today a non-for-profit and cultural association and a SCOP based in center of Marseille. The team try to promote movies that are too little known or released in Marseille and more widely in France. Mettings and debates are organizing.The venue tries to offer a place for using cinema as an opportunity to tackle esthetical and artistic questions also political issues.

Organisational structure: An non-for-profit association and a SCOP (commercial firm with special rules of corporate governance).

Editorial line: All the team of the venue takes responsability for the editorial content. Every person offers a programm for two weeks every month around a thematic, a important carachter of the cinema’s story or with patrimonial significance. The other part of the editorial content is taked in charge by programm partner, associations, cultural and social organizations or festival. Coming films can be shown, also political and social documentaries, experimental cinema. Each program includes introductions and discussions in a intimate atmosphere. The screening room hosts local associations and their movies propositions. Videodrome 2 works regulary with about fifteen cultural associations.

Regularity: Every day except the Monday.

Other stuff: Sometimes concerts but exclusively linked to a cinema program.

Audience: Mixed audience linked to the content of the screening and depending of the partner
